Endovaskuläre Therapietechniken bei cerebrovaskulären Erkrankungen


 

Die interventionelle (Katheter-gestützte) Neuroradiologie erlangt zunehmend mehr an Bedeutung bei der Therapie von akuten cerebrovaskulären Erkrankungen (Ischämie, Blutung). Im Vordergrund der Forschung
steht die Weiterentwicklung neuer endovaskulärer Techniken zur Therapie und Prävention des ischämischen Schlaganfalls und zur Behandlung intrakranieller Aneurysmen/AVM. An experimentellen Flussmodellen, an Simulationsgeräten, aber auch tierexperimentell werden neue Materialien erprobt und unterschiedliche Therapieverfahren optimiert. Ferner beschäftigen wir uns mit der Optimierung von Therapie-Abläufen und –Entscheidungen, aber auch mit grundlegenden pathophysiologischen Aspekten von cerebraler Ischämie und von Hirnblutungen. Die Abteilung nimmt an zahlreichen multizentrischen Studien teil und arbeitet mit anderen aktiven Zentren im In- und Ausland zusammen.
